I am a professor of psychology at Hanover College, a liberal arts college in Indiana, USA. I have research interests in the psychology of popular culture. In particular I am interested in how people make use of art, literature, music and popular culture as "equipment for living"--i.e., I want to understand how movies, books, music, etc., are integrated with people's identities and everyday lives.
In recent years I have noticed how much Bob Dylanís music has meant to me, and this seems to be true of many other people as well. The current questionnaire is an attempt gather information from Dylan fans about why and how Dylanís music has been so important to them. My goal is to use this information to come to a greater understanding of how popular culture impacts people in general and how Dylanís music has been particularly important to some individuals.
