Overview

In this exercise, we will be searching the psychological literature. Most of our work will involve PsycINFO, a computer-mediated searchable database of psychology articles, books, and book chapters. The topics this exercise will cover are:

  1. Accessing PsycINFO
  2. Searching PsycINFO
  3. Narrowing your search
  4. Locating a source
  5. Requesting a source through inter-library loan.

Accessing PsycINFO

  1. Go to the library homepage at http://library.hanover.edu
  2. Click on the "Research" menu (just to the right of Home on the navigation bar) and select "A-Z List of Electronic Resources"
  3. Click on the "Search Tools and Collections" link
  4. Click on the "Databases A-Z" link
  5. Scroll down to "PsycINFO" and click on it. If you are off-campus, it will ask you to sign in with your HC email password.
