After you have finished making your settings, press the Done button at the bottom of the screen. The Musical Stroop experiment screen will then be presented. Press the button at the top of the page or the space bar to begin the experiment. When the trial begins, a musical scale with a short 4 measure tune will be displayed at the top of the screen and a tune will be played. The participants task is to identify the tune displayed on the screen or the tune being played depending of the selection of Respond to What. You can do this three ways:
When the response is made the scale is removed from the screen but the tune plays to completion. At the end of the experiment, your results will be presented, both average reaction time and your accuracy. You can also get your trial by trial results. Closing your results window(s) will take you back to the setup window so you can run another experiment. Click here to start the experiment.
