Ellen Altermatt and Elizabeth Broady ('07) presented Capitalizaing on
Success and Coping with Failure: Examining Students' Interactions with
Family Members and Friends at the annual meeting of the Society for
Research in Child Development on Friday April 8th in Atlanta.

Justin Adams has been accepted into Master of Arts program in
Experimental/Human Factors Psychology at the University of Dayton.

Sirrena Piercy has been accepted to the doctoral program in clinical
psychology at the University of Indianapolis. The program is either a 4
year or a 5 year program.

Traveling Students
Some of our students have been hitting the road this term. Here are some
of the known destinations.
Tricia Callahan and Chris Dawson went to Jamaica as part of the medical
mission trip.
Sarah Ernst visited New York and saw the Gates in Central Park.

Abby Ramser, Internship Presentation
Thursday, October 14, Abby Ramser gave her internship presentation about
working with autistic children at the Weisskopf Center for the Evaluation of
Children.

Zach Walker, Birdman
Zach Walker gave his internship presentation on his work out at Hardy Lake,
Wedensday October 6. He talked about working in the Raptor
Rehabilitation Center and as an interpreter.

Paul Jeffries and Michelle Mamberg, present their research and professional
experiences to Advanced Research and other interested students, September 10,
11 am in Science Center 147.

Welcome to Baby Altermatt. Owen
Altermatt was born on September 8th at about 2:30 pm to Ellen and Bill
Altermatt. Owen was 7lbs 6 oz and 21". Mother and child are both
doing fine.

Sarah Blythe '03 has had two honors recently.
1) Her senior thesis has be published in an undergraduate journal of
neuroscience Impulse.

2) She has also been awarded a National Institutes of Health Pre-Doctoral
Fellowship.

Welcome to our two 1 year Faculty
Members. We are very pleased to welcome our two newest faculty
members Paul Jeffries and Michelle Mamberg.
Paul is a cognitive psychologist and will be teaching upper level laboratory
courses (learning and cognition) as well as introductory courses. He
has a BA from Columbia University and is a Ph.D. Candidate from SUNY
Stonybrook. He comes to us as a visiting instructor from Kalamazoo
College.
Michelle is a clinical psychologist from Clark university and will be
assisting Ellen, teaching intro and developmental. She has a BA from
SUNY Purchase and received her Ph.D. from Clark University. Last year
she taught at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
